Additional, Non-Operating session

  1. Base Session

This session has no rolling stock and should be used as a template if you wish to create your own sessions based on the Midwest Central map.  MidCen makes extensive use of the Invisible Speed Signal (ISS) to control train speed through turnouts, and since the ISS is a session-based control, loading the map without a session will reset all 50+ ISS controls to their default settings.

In addition to setting the ISS controls correctly, this “base session” correctly sets up the twin portals at East Shelton and Westfield to handle those trains that “turn around” in the portals and those that do not.   See the operations manual for more information.

So, if you’re making a session of your own, load the map with the base session first, add your rolling stock, then save under a different name to preserve the template.

  1. Multiple Trains 3

It's 0700 and the day shift is just beginning at the main yard. Your job is to supervise four drivers. Use your train orders to assign them to local trains for pickup and delivery over the entire route. Watch carefully to make sure they carry out their assignments.

This is a complex scenario, requiring about two hours to complete. There are a total of 23 active AI trains you'll meet along the way, so good luck and let's keep it safe out there.
